The 45 drawings and watercolours of this book are created in the years 1986 to 1989. The original seize is 15 x 10 cm. The he first time, I published these drawings is in 1994 during my exhibition in the gallery Georg van Almsick, Gronau-Epe (D). The gallery owner bought he book.
With the direct way of drawing page after page, following he pages of my paper blanc book, I have to reach an high level of concentration and to use only the best moments for fixing my ideas.
I need the sign for human figure for my subjects as “Encounters”, “Dances”,
“Balances” and also for my “Couples” and the “Heads”. With these subjects I test the suffering of human beings – also The Christ´s ones – searching to understand. My “Aspects of Life” you can take them as therapy of my soul.
I can´t see in the beginning, that I need so much time for this book(it is finished after 2 ½ years). So within the time the point of view changed. I don´t want to see only the battles, the bodily harms, the lacerations, which seems to be necessary for humans to maintain their order of life. I looked for the transitory aspects, including the individual coming and going, seeing Heaven and Earth as a relinquishing of powers, which – in an abstract way of drawing - got form. In the end my watercolours are showing the transmittance of light.
