Garden Eden
This book is an emotional meditation in pictures about quality of nature and the beauty.
In German tradition, the romantic angle of view to see landscapes begins with the contemporary of Dürer, Albrecht Altdorfer, whose drawings of trees and woods are reflecting the idea of The Creation. He donates us the aspect of savageness of nature, the concept of natures accretion, witch overrides the existence of human beings.
The Grandeur of Life expressed in the autonomy of nature, the ungovernable energy of growth, the power of forms and formations in contrast to our Idea of the Beauty, creates the base of my drawings.
Sorry, that I am not able to give you a translation of the German text.
It is a poetic letter to a fictive friend, remembering an exhibition of Dürers Drawings 1971 in Nürnberg and his irritating dictum, that he is not sure to know, what is “The Beauty”.
This encounter was the beginning of my reflections. In theory and practice I looked for results up to now. These drawings are only one settled moment in 1986 / 88.
The titles of the three parts and those of the drawings are narrations of circumstances, gerund forms, which means poetic descriptions of the drawings tenor.
I hope you will enjoy my works
